Cultivating, noticing, and sharing joy.
I went and experienced this at the SCAD Museum of Art over the weekend, and have been thinking about that scent. Today, since the prompt is “smell” I figured I’d look into it…
There is this fascinating article from FLOOD Magazine in 2019: https://floodmagazine.com/67019/sigur-ros-frontman-jonsi-makes-scents/
How cool is that entire family?! If I ever get to Iceland, I’m visiting Fischersund. The website is art (volume on), can you imagine the actual space? ✨I’m going to have to get myself those discovery kits sometime.
I went on a scent journey a few years ago - it was something I put off because I tend to like expensive things *shrugs* - I had put it on my list for several years, and then finally got a bottle of Tokyomilk Dark #17 Arsenic from Margot Elena, and a bunch of vials from For Strange Women. I recently added a scent from Element Tree Essentials here in Savannah, called Walk in the Woods, and I wear that almost daily.

So I didn’t find the exact scent of “Vox” by Jónsi, but I found and reflected on some really lovely smells, and decided I should definitely add a diffuser to my studio, loaded with vetiver.
Have you ever gone into exploring scents?
Do you have a signature scent?
Have you ever used it in your art?
How does scent bring you joy?
